How it works
Detection to evidence, in five steps.
Merlin turns a passive camera feed into a checked, routed and attested safety record. An appliance on your network reads the cameras. The AI that reads the frames runs in the cloud. Your findings and audit trail stay in the building.
Watch
An appliance on your local network reads the feeds from the cameras you already have. Nothing to rip out, no new hardware on the walls.
Detect
An AI reads the frames and names what it sees: missing gear on a person, and scene hazards like a spill, a blocked exit or a fire. It reads the whole scene rather than matching a fixed list of shapes, which is why the categories can grow with your site.
Apply your rules
A per facility policy and per camera zones decide whether it is actually a violation here. A vest on the line, none needed in the break room. Zones are editable live, no restart. A hard life safety floor is enforced in code: fire, person down and blocked exits can never be dismissed automatically.
Notify the right person
No code rules: email a supervisor, hit a webhook, post an in app alert, or log it. Multi step workflows with human approval gates, durable and resumable, plus an approvals inbox.
Sign off
A supervisor records what they actually saw. Every finding carries two independent signals: the AI that called it, and the human attested outcome.
It learns your exceptions
A welder in a face shield gets flagged for no mask. A supervisor closes it as not a concern and writes the reason. That reason becomes part of the site policy, so the same call stops coming back.
Stays on site
The appliance and your record
An appliance on your local network reads the feeds from the cameras you already have. Your rules, your findings database and your audit trail live on site too, so the record of what happened stays in the building.
Goes to the cloud
The detection
The AI that reads the frames and weighs context runs on Google's enterprise platform, configured for zero data retention. Images return an answer and are contractually not stored or used for training.
On the roadmap
Face blur before any image leaves the building. The on-site appliance blurs faces first, which is what opens the door to unionized and privacy regulated sites.
Categories that fit your floor
Hard hat, mask and vest come as standard, along with the scene hazards. If your site needs something else watched, tell us and we add it to your categories.
A life safety floor, in code
Fire, person down and blocked exits can never be auto dismissed. Whatever the rules say, those always reach a person.
